The Coated Vicryl Plus suture with needle from J & J Healthcare Systems is an absorbable antibacterial suture, meaning the suture material is absorbed over time and carries an antibacterial agent. It is a sterile, braided polyglactin 910 suture, size 1, supplied with a CT-1 taper point needle.
- Coated Vicryl Plus antibacterial sutures are described as killing bacteria and inhibiting bacterial colonization on the suture
- Shown in vitro to create a zone of inhibition against common surgical site pathogens: Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, MRSA and MRSE
