The J & J Healthcare Systems Coated Vicryl Plus suture with needle is an absorbable antibacterial suture, one that the body absorbs over time. It is braided polyglactin 910 and comes sterile, attached to a stainless steel taper point needle. It is made for wound closure in a clinical setting.
- Antibacterial suture: the Coated Vicryl Plus suture is described as killing bacteria and inhibiting bacterial colonization on the suture
- Shown in vitro to create a zone of inhibition against common surgical site pathogens: Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, MRSA and MRSE
