The Prolene Hernia System from J & J Healthcare Systems is an inguinal hernia repair mesh device. It is a sterile, pre-shaped, three-dimensional device built from an onlay patch, a mesh cylinder and a circular underlay patch. It is supplied in the Extended Style.
- Sterile, pre-shaped, three-dimensional device: an onlay patch joined by a mesh cylinder to a circular underlay patch
- Undyed Prolene (polypropylene) mesh, knitted from nonabsorbable polypropylene filaments
- The onlay patch covers the entire floor of the canal and overlaps the pubic tubercle for added support, in line with conventional patch techniques
- The connector brings the simplicity of a plug repair and holds the underlay patch in place
- The underlay patch lies flat in the preperitoneal space, forming a double layer over the transversalis fascia and covering the entire Myopectineal orifice
- Exclusive Prolene Hernia System design that covers both the femoral and inguinal regions
