The Gentell Dusoft sponge is a sterile nonwoven gauze sponge, a square dressing that is 2 x 2 inches and 4-ply. It is made from a polyester and rayon blend. Facilities and home caregivers can use it as a general purpose gauze dressing.
- Four-ply construction
- Nonwoven material produces less lint and is less adherent than woven gauze sponges, so it causes less disruption to newly formed granulation tissue
- Rayon and polyester blend wicks quickly and is highly absorbent, which helps limit skin maceration
