The DeRoyal Sofsorb Standard is a super absorbent dressing, a pad that takes in wound drainage. It is a sterile 4 x 6 inch rectangle with no border. Its five layers are built to hold drainage, and the pad stays soft and flexible.
- Five-layer construction: nonadherent wound contact layer, stay-dry liner, absorbent center layer, cellulose layer and air-permeable backing
- Stay-dry liner lets wound drainage pass through to the layers below
- Center layer absorbs wound drainage
- Cellulose layer wicks drainage horizontally along the pad
- Air-permeable backing adds strength and durability
- Rounded edges and tapered limb configurations conform to curved and hard-to-dress areas without unnecessary bulk
- Soft, pliable pad that allows range of motion exercises
- May be soaked with saline or topical agents before use
