The Covidien Biosyn suture with needle is an absorbable suture, one the body absorbs over time, made as a single smooth monofilament strand. It comes sterile with one alloy needle attached, so it is ready for the clinical team to use. Facility buyers can check the exact needle and suture specs below.
- Made from Glycomer 631, a synthetic polyester composed of glycolide (60%), dioxanone (14%) and trimethylene carbonate (26%)
- Synthetic absorbable suture in the Biosyn line
- Monofilament construction for smooth passage through tissue
- Supports the wound for up to 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 90 to 110 days
