The Kaltostat calcium alginate dressing is a soft, sterile dressing made from calcium-sodium alginate fiber. It is nonadhesive and comes as a white rectangle measuring 3 x 4-3/4 inches (7.5 x 12 centimeters). It is designed to absorb exudate, the fluid from a wound, and to help control minor bleeding.
