The Kaltostat calcium alginate dressing from ConvaTec is a soft, sterile dressing made of calcium-sodium alginate fiber. It comes as a 2 gram white rope and is nonadhesive. On contact with fluid, the fiber turns into a firm gel and fiber mat.
