The Comfeel Plus Ulcer hydrocolloid dressing from Coloplast is a sterile, square 4 x 4 inch dressing with a film backing. It is used to seal and protect low to moderately exuding wounds. A hydrocolloid dressing holds moisture in a gel-forming layer, and this one adds calcium alginate for more absorption.
- Hydrocolloid dressing with alginate, made for sealing and protecting low to moderately exuding wounds
- Used for the management of low to moderately exuding wounds, including leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, superficial burns, superficial partial-thickness burns, donor sites, postoperative wounds and skin abrasions
- Can stay on for up to 7 days, depending on the specific wound characteristics
- Semi-permeable top film lets moisture evaporate in line with the level of exudate, and keeps bacteria and water from entering the wound
- Made of moisture-absorbing sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) particles encapsulated in a synthetic adhesive/elastomer matrix
- Calcium alginate is added to increase absorption
- Top film is semi-permeable polyurethane
