Pivot 1.5 Cal from Abbott Nutrition is a liquid tube feeding formula for adults. It is a peptide-based, high protein formula that comes in a 33.8-ounce bottle holding 1 liter. It is concentrated, with 1½ calories per mL, for patients on restricted fluids.
- Very high protein: 93.8 grams per liter, which is 25% of calories, to support protein synthesis and tissue maintenance
- Concentrated calories: 1½ calories per mL, made for fluid-restricted patients
- Arginine at 13 grams per liter (3.5% of calories), plus inherent glutamine and omega-3 fatty acids, included as part of the immune support profile
- Hydrolyzed, peptide-based protein system
- MCT/fish oil structured lipid, a fat described as well tolerated
- 1.8 grams of scFOS (short chain fructo-oligosaccharides) per 8 fluid ounces
- scFOS are prebiotic soluble fibers
- Elevated levels of antioxidant vitamins C and E, selenium and beta carotene
