Similac NeoSure powder infant formula from Abbott Nutrition is made for premature infants. It comes as an unflavored powder in a 13.1-ounce can and is given by mouth. Each serving provides 100 calories.
- Studied in preterm infants fed Similac NeoSure through the first year of life: lean body mass was significantly increased and fat mass was lower at 12 months corrected age
- Made with more protein, vitamins and minerals than term infant formula, plus more calories, and calcium and phosphorus for growing bones
- Compared with term infant formula, designed to support bigger gains in weight, length and head circumference
- OptiGRO is Abbott's exclusive blend of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid), lutein and vitamin E
- Contains lutein, a carotenoid naturally found in colostrum and human milk
- 25% of the fat blend is medium-chain triglycerides (MCT), a fat source that is easily digested and well absorbed
