The Smith & Nephew PICO 7 One Dressing Kit is a negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) dressing, an absorbent adhesive dressing that works with a PICO pump. It measures 10 x 30 cm and is sterile. It is approved for use on acute wounds, chronic wounds and closed surgical incisions.
- PICO provides suction known as negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), which draws excess fluid from a wound and protects the incision or wound
- The system pairs an NPWT pump with an absorbent, gentle adhesive dressing that measures 10 x 30 centimeters
- You apply the dressing to the wound bed, then place extra adhesive strips over the outside edge to help hold it in place
- When the pump is turned on, air is pulled out of the dressing and excess fluid from the wound begins to enter the dressing
- The dressing is designed to help keep bacteria from entering the wound
- Approved for use on acute wounds, chronic wounds and closed surgical incisions
- PICO 7 is a portable system that lets patients continue daily activities
