Solosite hydrogel dressing is an amorphous gel, a soft spreadable gel dressing that you apply to a wound. It comes in a 3-ounce tube and is made by Smith & Nephew. It is commonly used on minor burns, lacerations, skin tears, diabetic foot ulcers and surgical incisions.
- Made with absorbent polymers that take up wound drainage, helping keep the area around the wound clean
- Gentle gel formula that is used with autolytic debridement, the body's own process of breaking down dead tissue with enzymes and moisture
- Non-sensitizing formula, made not to cause reactions in newly forming tissue
- Used to cool the wounded area
- Commonly used on minor burns, lacerations, skin tears, diabetic foot ulcers and surgical incisions
- Contains preservatives and allantoin, which softens the top layer of skin
