The Medtronic OxiMax Max-Fast forehead sensor is an SpO2 sensor, a sensor that reads oxygen saturation, designed for use on an adult patient's forehead. It is for single patient use and secures with a wrap-around design. Clinicians can place it on the forehead, which is often easier to reach than the hands.

• Made for the forehead, a site closer to the heart than the fingers
• Responds to changes in arterial oxygen saturation typically 1 to 2 minutes sooner than digit sensors for patients with weak pulses
• Forehead placement differs from ear sensors, which are subject to vasoconstriction and may cause pressure necrosis; the Max-Fast sensor maintains stronger signal integrity
• Clinicians often have easier access to the forehead than to the hands, especially in the operating room
