The Hygrobac S from Medtronic MITG is a heat and moisture exchanger (HME) with a built-in filter. It is a straight, small-size device made for adult patients. It combines the filter and the HME in one unit.
- Combined filter and HME in one unit, which shortens set-up time, limits dead space and weight on the endotracheal tube and circuit, and maximizes efficiency
- Electrostatic hydrophobic membrane guards against cross-contamination
- Hygroscopic membrane traps the patient's moisture to provide effective airway humidification
- Low resistance to airflow keeps the work of breathing down
- Moisture control reduces the risk of colonization in breathing tubes and limits sampling line blockage
- End tidal CO2 sampling port gives convenient access to airway gases
- ISO standard 15mm and 22mm fitting connects with the breathing system
- Treated with physiologically safe calcium chloride
