The Ethilon suture with needle is a nonabsorbable suture, one that is not broken down by the body, made of nylon monofilament. It comes sterile with one stainless steel reverse cutting needle attached. It is made by J & J Healthcare Systems.

- Dyed to show up more clearly in tissue

- Made to cause a minimal acute inflammatory response from tissue
