The Ethilon suture with needle is a nonabsorbable monofilament suture, a single smooth strand that does not dissolve in the body. It pairs nylon suture material with a stainless steel PS-2 precision reverse cutting needle. It is supplied sterile, so it is ready for use in clinical settings.
- Nonabsorbable monofilament suture made from a long polymer chain
- Dyed black or green to improve visibility in tissue
- Minimal acute inflammatory response from tissue
- Extremely slow encapsulation and degradation, over 1 to 2 years
