The Ethilon suture with needle is a nonabsorbable monofilament suture, a single smooth strand that the body does not absorb. It is made of nylon and comes attached to a 19 mm stainless steel precision reverse cutting needle. It is supplied sterile for use in wound closure.

- Dyed black or green to enhance visibility in tissue
- Minimal acute inflammatory response from tissue
