Hardy Diagnostics R99 is a viral transport medium, a liquid used to collect specimens and carry them to the lab for the identification of viruses. It is made for use with nasopharyngeal swabs and oropharyngeal swabs. Each tube holds a 3 mL fill and has a beige cap.
- Collects and transports specimens to the lab for the identification of viruses
- Made from Modified Hank's Balanced Salt Solution, supplemented with animal protein and sucrose for virus stabilization
- For use with nasopharyngeal swabs and oropharyngeal swabs
- Selective agents are added to inhibit bacterial and fungal contaminants
- Buffer solution maintains pH at 7.3 +/- 0.2, with phenol red as the pH indicator
- Acts as a cryoprotectant for virus stabilization through freezing and thawing
- Tube volume is 15 mL with a 3 mL fill and a beige cap
- Supplied in tubes, with 20 tubes in a box
