Which brands does Great Oak Medical carry in Wound Dressings?
What units of measure are available for Wound Dressings?
Shop dressings by type
- Foam dressings: padded, absorbent dressings, with or without an adhesive border. Silicone foam dressings, such as Mepilex, have a soft silicone layer on the side that touches the skin. Allevyn foam dressings are also available.
- Hydrocolloid dressings: thin, flexible dressings that form a gel as they take up fluid, such as DuoDerm.
- Alginate and fiber dressings: soft calcium alginate dressings, such as Kaltostat, and gelling fiber dressings, such as Aquacel.
- Hydrogel dressings: water-based gels, such as Intrasite, that add moisture to a dressing.
- Transparent film dressings: thin, clear dressings that hold a wound covering in place.
- Gauze and non-adherent dressings: gauze pads and rolls, and non-adherent dressings such as Telfa.
- Specialty dressings: collagen, honey, and other dressings for clinical wound care programs.
- Accessories: wound measurers and other dressing accessories.

Before you order
Check four details on the product page: the dressing type, the size, whether it is adhesive or non-adhesive, and whether it is sterile. Dressings are sold by the box and by the case, and many are also sold singly. A wound care nurse, doctor, or other clinician chooses the dressing for a particular wound.
What is the difference between foam and hydrocolloid dressings?
Foam dressings are padded and absorbent. Hydrocolloid dressings are thinner and form a gel as they take up fluid. A clinician decides which one a wound needs.
What does "silicone foam" mean?
The side of the foam that touches the skin has a soft silicone layer.
What does "non-adherent" mean?
The surface of the dressing is made not to stick to the wound. Non-adherent dressings are usually held in place with tape or a wrap.
Can I buy dressings for a facility?
Yes. Most dressings are sold in box and case quantities. Ask our customer care team about a business account.
