The DonJoy ankle support from DJO is a lace-up brace with figure 8 strapping, made of nylon and worn on the foot and ankle. It comes in size Medium and fits both the right and left ankle. Facility buyers and home caregivers can check the fit with one measurement, listed below.
- 3-inch elastic straps start at the back of the brace and secure all of the strapping
- Overlapping straps also provide compression and stability at the tibia and fibula
- Trimmable figure 8 strapping locks the calcaneus (heel bone) into place and helps control inversion and eversion, the inward and outward rolling of the ankle
- Removable, articulated medial and lateral stays (side supports) help enhance proprioception, the body's sense of joint position, and add stability
