The Coloplast Biatain Super is a super absorbent dressing with an adhesive border, made for highly exuding wounds. Its hydrocapillary pad takes in fluid, the clinical term is exudate, and spreads it through the pad. It is a sterile, square dressing that measures 5 x 5 inches.
- Made for highly exuding wounds: it absorbs, distributes and retains exudate quickly, so the pad's full absorption capacity is used, with minimal risk of maceration and leakage
- Designed to support a moist wound environment: the hydrocapillary pad absorbs exudate vertically and distributes it horizontally
- Superabsorbent particles take in and hold high amounts of exudate
- Fibers spread the exudate through the pad to maximize absorption
- A high moisture vapor transmission rate adds to its exudate management
- Built in layers: a superabsorbent hydrocapillary pad, a semi-permeable top film that is water- and bacteria proof, a hydrocolloid component for adhesion and a nonadhesive wound contact layer
