The BD Universal Viral Transport Kit with Universal Transport Medium Additive is a sterile specimen collection and transport system. It pairs a flocked swab with a 3 mL vial of transport medium. The design is meant to keep handling simple at the point of collection.
- Keeps viruses, chlamydiae, mycoplasmas and ureaplasmas viable in a single formulation
- Phenol red pH indicator lets you check medium integrity at the time of specimen collection
- Flat-bottomed conical tube stands on the benchtop, which reduces the risk of biohazardous spills
- Capture-cap on the 3 mL vial removes the need for forceps to take out the swab and reduces the risk of contamination
- Scored swabs remove the need for scissors
