Propimex-1 is an amino acid-modified infant formula with iron, made by Abbott Nutrition for infants and toddlers with propionic or methylmalonic acidemia. It is an unflavored powder that you prepare and give by mouth. Each can holds 14.1 oz (400 grams).
- Methionine-free and valine-free, so the formula allows a greater intake of intact protein
- Low in isoleucine and threonine
- L-carnitine at 900 mg per 100 grams, to supply the amount normally found in human milk and foods of animal origin and to help excrete toxic metabolites
- Taurine at 40 mg per 100 grams, to supply the amount normally found in human milk and foods of animal origin
- About 40% of energy comes from fat, which helps achieve acceptable formula osmolality
- 6.6% of energy comes from linoleic acid
- Nutrient profile designed specifically for infants and toddlers
- Contains docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and arachidonic acid (ARA) to help support brain and eye development
- Lactose-free
