Description / Covidien SC5689G - Caprosyn™ Suture with Needle - 12/Box
The Caprosyn suture with needle is a synthetic absorbable suture, one that the body absorbs over time instead of needing removal. It is a monofilament, a single smooth strand, and it comes with a precision reverse cutting needle attached. It is made by Covidien for general soft tissue closure.
- Monofilament synthetic absorbable suture that provides short term tensile strength
- Quick-absorbing, durable polymer material with monofilament construction for smooth passage through tissue
- Made for better approximation or ligation
- Indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation
- Not for use in cardiovascular or neurological surgery, microsurgery, or ophthalmic surgery
- Complete mass absorption in approximately 56 days
- Monofilament surface creates less tissue drag than the twisted surface of Gut sutures
- Size 5-0, polyester suture material, 18 inch suture length
- P-13 needle: 3/8 circle, precision reverse cutting, alloy, 13 mm long
