The Surgical Specialties suture with needle is a nonabsorbable suture, meaning it is not broken down by the body. It pairs a blue polypropylene monofilament strand with a 13 mm stainless steel needle. It is sterile and sold by the box.
- Polypropylene is inert and smooth, easy to handle, and ties a secure knot. It is the most versatile monofilament suture in the Surgical Specialties line
- Extruded with a unique technique for a uniformly round cross section, so the strand passes easily through tissue and holds knots securely with fewer throws
