The Monocryl suture with needle is an absorbable suture, one that the body absorbs over time instead of needing removal. It is a sterile, undyed, uncoated poliglecaprone monofilament in size 3-0. It comes with a 24 mm stainless steel PS-1 reverse cutting needle.
- Monofilament construction made for pliability and smooth passage through tissue
- Designed with low tissue drag and no fraying
- Frequent uses include bladder, gastro-intestinal, subcuticular closure, reproductive tract and fascia closure/linea alba in young, healthy animals
- Loses 60-70% of tensile strength after 1 week
- Complete mass absorption in 91-119 days
