The Monocryl suture with needle is an absorbable suture, one the body gradually absorbs, made of poliglecaprone in a single monofilament strand. It is paired with a precision reverse cutting needle and supplied sterile. Each box holds 12 sutures.
- Monofilament construction made for pliability and smooth passage through tissue
- Designed with less tissue drag and no fraying; described as causing less tissue reaction than chromic gut
- Frequent uses include bladder, gastro-intestinal, subcuticular closure, reproductive tract and fascia closure/linea alba in young animals
- Loses 60-70% of its tensile strength after 1 week
- Complete mass absorption in 91-119 days
- Suture material: poliglecaprone, P-3, size 5-0, monofilament
- Suture length: 18 inch, undyed and uncoated
