The Coloplast Biatain Calcium Alginate Dressing is an alginate dressing, a wound dressing made from calcium alginate fibers. It is a sterile, white, 6 x 6 inch square. You can cut it to fit the size, shape or depth of a wound, which makes it suited to cavity filling.
- Suited to cavity filling: the dressing keeps its structure, so you can cut it to fit any size, shape or depth of wound
- Dressing integrity allows it to be removed in one piece
- Designed to limit leakage and maceration: it absorbs exudate and forms a gel that locks the exudate inside, which helps keep fluid from reaching the surrounding skin
- Mode of action: on contact with wound exudate, Biatain Alginate converts to a soft, cohesive gel that creates a moist wound environment
