The Biatain Calcium Alginate Dressing from Coloplast is a sterile alginate dressing, a wound dressing made from calcium alginate fibers. It measures 2 x 2 inches and is square. You can cut it to fit wounds of different sizes, shapes and depths.

• Made for cavity filling: the dressing keeps its structure, so you can cut it to fit any size, shape or depth of wound
• Dressing integrity allows it to be removed in one piece
• Absorbs well and forms a gel that holds exudate (wound fluid) inside, which limits leakage and the risk of maceration (softening) of the skin around the wound
• On contact with wound exudate, the alginate converts to a soft, cohesive gel that creates a moist wound environment
• Material: calcium alginate / CMC (carboxymethylcellulose)
