The Kendall Calcium Alginate Dressing is a sterile, square dressing made from calcium alginate, a fiber that turns to gel as it takes in fluid. It measures 4 x 4 inch. It is made for facility and home wound care use where an alginate dressing is needed.
- Absorbs exudate (wound fluid) and forms a protective, cushioning gel that keeps a moist wound environment
- The protective gel binds exudate and is made to help guard the surrounding skin from maceration (softening from too much moisture)
- Can be used on infected wounds
- Absorbs approximately 20 times the dressing's weight
- The dressing's composition and weaving pattern are designed for simple, one-piece removal
