The Medline Stratasorb composite island dressing combines a contact layer, an absorbent pad, a nonwoven adhesive-border backing and a film cover in one sterile dressing. It has a 4 x 4 inch pad centered in a square 6 X 6 Inch dressing. It is sold by the each, box and case.
- Four distinct layers, designed to cover all stages of wound care
- Layer 1 is a non-adherent contact layer that protects the wound site and does not stick to granulating tissue
- Layer 2 is a soft pad that absorbs drainage
- Layer 3 is a nonwoven backing with an adhesive border that holds the contact pad securely in place
- Layer 4 is a semi-occlusive polyurethane film that helps deter external contaminants and helps maintain an optimal wound environment
