The Endopath Xcel trocar with Optiview technology is a bladeless trocar, a access device with a tip that has no cutting blade. It is designed for the camera port. Its housing is built to wipe, wick and absorb fluid that can build up inside it.
- Designed for the camera port: Optiview technology wipes, wicks and absorbs fluid that can build up inside the trocar housing, which reduces smudging of the endoscope on reinsertion
- Described as the only trocar that reduces endoscope smudging on reinsertion in this way
- Low insertion force for controlled and predictable entry
- Abdominal wall retention: an integrated thread design on the bladeless, universal sleeve and dilating tip cannulas helps minimize trocar slip-outs
- Low drag force: the housing and seal are designed to reduce instrument hang-ups and keep instrument insertion and extraction forces low
- Direct visualization: the bladeless tip allows endoscopic optical entry
