The Dukal USP Type VII gauze sponge is a square, 12-ply cotton gauze sponge that measures 4 x 4 inches. Each sponge has a blue filament, so it can be detected by X-ray. It is nonsterile and comes banded in tens, which helps you keep an accurate count.
