The Coloplast Biatain Alginate Ag dressing is a silver alginate dressing, a soft wound dressing made from calcium alginate and carboxymethyl cellulose. It is a sterile, non-adhesive square that measures 2 x 2 inches. You can cut it to fit the size, shape or depth of a wound.
- Made for cavity filling: the design and structure of the dressing let you cut it to fit any size, shape or depth of wound
- Conforms to the wound bed
- Patented silver complex, which releases silver ions in the presence of wound exudate
- Wear time of up to 7 days
- Dressing stays intact for one-piece removal
- Absorbs exudate and forms a gel that locks exudate inside, giving a low risk of leakage and maceration of the surrounding skin
- Alginate dressing, unlike hydrofiber dressings, with a documented hemostatic effect, meaning the ability to arrest blood flow in minor bleeding
