The Smith & Nephew Durafiber Ag silver dressing is a gelling fiber dressing, a nonwoven pad that turns into a gel when it meets wound fluid. It is a sterile, square, non-adhesive dressing without a border. It can be used with a range of cover dressings, including Allevyn and Profore.
- Designed to form a clear, cool gel quickly on contact with wound fluid
- The gel absorbs excess fluid, holds exudate away from the wound and conforms closely to the wound bed
- The gel provides a moist environment that supports autolytic debridement, the body's own process of clearing tissue
- High integral wet strength allows easy one-piece removal from moist wound beds and cavity wounds
- Can be used with a range of cover dressings, including Allevyn and Profore
