The Visitec sterile gauze sponge is a square, 16-ply sponge made from USP Type VII gauze. It has a built-in X-ray detectable element, so it can be seen on imaging. It measures 4 x 4 inches and comes packed sterile, ten to a tray.
- Sixteen-ply construction
- Dual-colored element pairs a blue radiopaque strand with a white strand, and both become visible when the sponge is saturated with blood
- The element runs through both sides of the sponge to make counting easier
- Precise double vacuum de-linting process for low lint

- USP Type VII: USP means the gauze sponge meets United States Pharmacopeial Convention standards
