The Meridian Bioscience Para-Pak Single-Vial C and S is a stool specimen container, a disposable vial prefilled with transport medium for culture and sensitivity testing. It has a leakproof screw cap with a collection spoon built in. Facility buyers and home caregivers can check the fill volume and storage needs below.
- 30 mL plastic disposable vials, each filled with 15 mL of Modified Cary-Blair transport medium that contains phenol red indicator
- The medium is isotonic and nonnutritive. It is made to keep delicate pathogens, such as shigella and campylobacter, viable and to limit overgrowth by commensal organisms
- The indicator changes color from red to yellow to show overgrowth and improper storage of the specimen
- Enteric pathogen survival for 96 hours and longer
- Leakproof screw cap with collection spoon
