The NexTemp single patient skin thermometer from Medical Indicators shows temperature with chemical color dots, so there is no battery or screen to read. You read the result from the dots, which turn from green to black as the unit warms. It measures on the Fahrenheit scale from 96 to 104 °F.
- Dots are bright green at normal room temperature
- As the thermometer warms, the chemical dots turn black in sequence until the highest temperature is reached
- The dots return to their original green state in a short period of time, so the unit can be reused or thrown away according to directions
