The Protectiv Plus-W from ICU Medical FKA Smiths Medical is a peripheral IV catheter, a short catheter placed in a peripheral vein. It is an 18 gauge, 1-1/4 inch sterile catheter with a winged hub. A sliding safety feature retracts the needle by hand.
