The Gentell Algicell alginate dressing is a soft, white, sterile dressing made of calcium alginate. It measures 2 x 2 inches and absorbs moderate to large amounts of wound drainage. It is used with a secondary dressing, which holds it in place.
- Needs a secondary dressing to hold the alginate in place and to protect the wound from outside contaminants
- Made to keep its form, so it removes easily and without trauma
- Gels on contact with wound fluids, which maintains a moist wound environment
- Soft, white, sterile dressing that absorbs moderate to large amounts of wound drainage
