The Copan Diagnostics eSwab is a specimen collection and transport system. Each set pairs a flocked mini-tip nylon swab with a screw-cap tube holding 1 mL of liquid Amies medium. It is made for facility labs and for anyone who needs to collect a sample and send it for testing.

• Collects samples from eyes, ears, nasal passages and urogenital tracts, using the swab with 1 mL of liquid Amies medium
• Each collection pack holds a conical internal-shape tube with a green capture cap, filled with 1 mL of liquid Amies medium, plus one mini-tip nylon flocked swab
• Multipurpose, open platform liquid-based system that keeps aerobic, anaerobic and fastidious bacteria viable for up to 48 hours at refrigerator and room temperature
• Uses Copan's patented FLOQSwabs flocked swab, which reduces the need for multiple samples from the same patient and supports patient comfort
• Liquid transport swab system that allows automated specimen processing
• The flocked swab elutes the entire sample into the 1 mL of liquid Amies medium, so identical aliquots of the suspension allow multiple tests from one specimen
• The entire specimen elutes from the swab into a homogeneous suspension, for a more precise and even smear and consistent Gram stains
• Tested and validated in full compliance with CLSI M40-A, the quality control standard for microbiological transport systems, including Neisseria gonorrhoeae survival at 24 hours
