The Bard Dignishield SMS collection bag is a rectal collection pouch, part of the Dignishield SMS stool management system. It is a one-piece system with a closed end and a 1000 mL capacity. It includes a sampling port and a bag cap.
- Anatomical design: the geometric area at the opening of the cuff is 149% larger, while the external cuff diameter stays comparable to other commercially available fecal management devices
- Integrated sampling port is easy to use and lowers the possibility of contamination when you take a specimen
- Odor control from Bard's proprietary Permalene polymer technology, which significantly reduces tubing permeability of compounds that contribute to odor
- Automatic closure: when you disengage the collection bag from the catheter, the catheter and bag close on their own to guard against spillage
- Bag cap included to secure the contents of the collection bag when the catheter is removed
