Vital AF 1.2 Cal is a vanilla-flavored liquid formula from Abbott Nutrition, made for adults. It comes in a 33.8 oz. ready to hang carton, so it goes straight to the feeding setup without mixing. It can be given by tube or by mouth.
- Built with tolerance in mind: a hydrolyzed peptide-based protein system, meaning the protein is already broken into smaller pieces
- Medium chain triglycerides and fish oil structured lipid, a well-tolerated fat made to support absorption of fatty acids
- 1.2 grams of NutraFlora scFOS (short chain fructo-oligosaccharides) per 8 fluid ounces, a prebiotic fiber
- EPA at 2.7 grams per liter and DHA at 1.1 grams per liter from refined fish oil
- 75 grams of protein per liter, for the higher protein needs of stressed patients (greater than or equal to 1.2 grams per kilogram)
- 25.8 micrograms of vitamin D per liter, for the higher vitamin D needs of critically ill patients
- Elevated levels of the antioxidant vitamins C and E and selenium
- Gluten-free
- Suitable for lactose intolerance
